SEE
The gigantic bamboo stalk look-a-like architecture, Taipei 101, is visible from nearly all area in Taipei. Taipei 101 held the title of the "world's tallest building" for a number of years. It serves as an office buildings, shopping mall and observation deck. The first five floors of the building are actually taken up by the shopping mall. There are a lot of good food in the basement food court so you don't have to worry about getting hungry at Taipei 101.
The observation decks are located on the 88th and 89th floors and there is an outdoor deck on the 91st floor (which is opened when the weather permits). There is a massive gold-coloured iron wind damper that keeps the tower stable through the typhoons and earthquakes which is visible to visitors. The damper has also become the inspiration for the designer to make a cute mascot of Taipei 101. Both the day view and the night view from Taipei 101 are equally amazing so you can come at anytime at your best convenience.

EAT
The Taiwanese is pretty passionate about its famous dish, beef noodle. There is even an annual event for beef noodle competition. The best beef noodle which seems to be pretty popular with tourists (especially the Japanese) is located at Yongkang Street. Having established for more than a decade, Yongkang Beef Noodles has gained popularity up to the point that the price for a bowl of beef noodle can be considered pretty high now. However, you don't pay for nothing as the beef noodle really taste very good.
If you are a morning person, chances are there are not many things to do in Taipei yet as the city does not start that early. It is time for you to try the local breakfast at Yong He Dou Jiang. Situated at the bustling Shida Road, Yong He Dou Jiang is always frequented by office workers and students alike. The soya milk is served on a small bowl and yes, you just need to gulp them all. Slurp!
